FAQ

Quick answers about $DRIFT, claiming, and the Shards you collect. For the full reference, see the docs.

Token

What is $DRIFT?

A Token-2022 mint on Solana. Holding it lets your wallet claim Shards — floating biomes that evolve every 15 minutes. The contract is 5iyR3QqpEGP4wW3nFRQEhtBKkD1TM8S84yLJ9LVdrift.

What's the supply?

12,000 total — 6,000 seeded to liquidity and 6,000 backing the Shards. There are never more than 6,000 active Shards.

Why Token-2022?

Token-2022 is Solana's token-extensions standard. The app reads your balance live from the chain regardless of which token program holds your accounts.

Claiming

How many Shards can I claim?

As many as your $DRIFT balance, floored. 1 token = 1 Shard, 2 = 2, and so on. Buy more and claim again to top up. The cap across everyone is 6,000.

Does claiming cost gas?

No. Claiming is a single off-chain message signature. No transaction is sent, so there's no fee.

Is it safe?

Yes. A message signature proves you own the wallet — it cannot move your tokens or SOL. The message you sign says exactly that, in plain language.

Where do my Shards go?

They're tied to your wallet and appear instantly on your portfolio, each with live stats and an evolution timer.

Shards

What's inside a Shard?

A biome, an element, a rarity, live weather and temperature, six stats, a chemical composition, companions that hatch at milestones, and mutations that can surface over time. It gains a level every 15 minutes.

How fast does it evolve?

One level every 15 minutes, up to the ceiling set by its rarity — from level 30 for Common to 100 for Mythic, with OG and Genesis pushing the ceiling higher. It keeps climbing whether or not you're watching.

What are companions?

Named creatures that hatch at level milestones, each with its own species, element, rarity and power. Higher-rarity Shards field stronger ones.

OG & Ancestry

What makes a Shard OG?

The first 6,000 Shards ever claimed are OG. Once all 6,000 OG slots are taken, no new OG can ever exist.

Why hold an OG?

An OG adds +15 to its level ceiling, +12% stats, and gains Ancestry — up to +30% more power the longer you hold it unsold. OGs you never sell keep getting stronger.

What happens if I sell?

Your Shard count follows your live balance. Drop below what you've claimed and your newest Shards release first; your oldest and OG Shards are kept as long as possible. Releasing an OG burns its OG status for good.

Wallets

Which wallets work?

Any Solana wallet that supports the Wallet Standard — Phantom, Backpack, Solflare, Jupiter and others. Connect, and the app lists every wallet it detects.

What does connecting share?

Only your public address, so the app can read your $DRIFT balance. Nothing moves until you choose to claim and sign.

Troubleshooting

It says "hold at least 1 $DRIFT".

Your wallet's live balance is below 1. Acquire $DRIFT and try again — balances refresh each time the app reads them.

My balance looks stale.

Balances are read from a Solana RPC and can lag a few seconds after a trade. Give it a moment and reload your portfolio.

A Shard disappeared.

If your balance dropped below your claimed count, the newest Shards released back to supply. Hold the matching amount of $DRIFT to keep them.
